La cabane a sucre After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the famous Au pied de cochon sugar shack finally reopened its dining room in , with a new chef at the helm! A look back at a gargantuan feast. Trained with the greats Normand Laprise, Jean-Paul Grappe, Marc Meneau in several starred restaurants, he broke many taboos when he opened his restaurant Au pied de cochon at the turn of the millennium. The Cabane d’à côté is meant to be like visiting a friend’s cottage. You enter into the open kitchen and see the small dining area (of around 40 seats).

And if your lucky you can even help out in the kitchen.
Dining is family-style with picnic tables with leaves in the middle for the ever-popular maple sugar.
A great thing is that the Cabane d’à côté is open during the summer too.

It finally came, and I was well-prepared for the singular experience of a multi-course feast from the mind of the Wild Chef and the subsequent foie gras-induced stupor that notoriously comes with it.Food is cooked on a wood oven and keeps to classic recipes with a modern twist.
